
It was August 1st, 1977. A typically warm summer morning greeted a Royal Jordanian
B747 flight, coming into Bahrain International Airport enroute from Amman to Bangkok.
Inside the terminal, ready to welcome the crew and passengers of flight RJ180, were
a host of dignitaries, including H.E. Yousif Al-Shirawi, the former Minister of
Development and Industry, H.E. Salim Bin Naser Al Busaidi, the Managing Director
of Gulf Air, and senior members of Bahrain's business community.
