- January 01, 2011

BIA Aircraft Recovery Services Team trains in Germ Bahrain International Airport’s (BIA) Aircraft Recovery Services Team, consisting of BAC and BAS members, received specialized technical training in Germany as part of Bahrain Airport Company’s (BAC) initiative to develop its staff for the betterment of all Airport users.

The Aircraft Recovery Services Team is responsible for salvaging and recovering key components from an aircraft in the case of any incident at the Airport.  Salvage procedures are designed to return the airport to normal operations and supports investigation into causes.

The Team underwent a 10 day training course last month which included theoretical training in Munich Airport, followed by a practical training course in Stuttgart Airport, involving aircraft recovery role play. The training program was organized by BAC’s consultant partners Munich Airport, to ensure the Team is well prepared and trained to salvage an aircraft in the event of an incident.
