Jamal Ahmed Asheer was nominated as Bahrain Airport Services Employee of the Month, November 2008 after he detected a fuel leak and promptly alerted the appropriate authorities. BAS CEO Phillip Bowel sincerely thanked Mr. Asheer for saving a potentially dangerous situation from occurring and presented him with a cheque and certificate at a ceremony that took place in BAS head quarters.

Mr. Yousif Al Awadhi, General Manager, BAFCO, also attended the award presentation in Appreciation to Asheer for his vigilance and quick responses, presenting him with another cheque from BAFCO.
